Art of the Mind’s Eye

The Mat-Su Youth Action Board hosted Art of the Mind’s Eye in partnership with the Alaska Coalition on Housing and Homelessness. This is an art-styled camp for all types of still visual arts revolving around the world of the viewer's eyes. The Art of the Mind's Eye camp was an excellent opportunity for attendees to explore and develop a more in-tune relationship with their perspective of their world. This type of art is under-appreciated by the general populace in the modern world and yet reveals much character for the artist and the viewer.

We focused on providing a new way for youth to learn and explore their inner emotions and thoughts while still managing to be fun. Our intentions behind this camp were to help youth and young adults see the world through their view and not through the same eyes everyone else does, thus opening the path for more creative minds in the community.

HIGHLIGHTS:

• Opened paths for more creative minds in the community

• Helped young people see the world through their view

• Explored new ways for youth to learn and explore their inner emotions and thoughts while still managing to be fun

• Focused on building a positive culture and community and interacting with peers
